We’ve been hearing a ton of reports lately about Hacks not only with Local Websites here in Orlando but, the government is having a ton of issue. In this post we will explain to you about some Tips on how to secure your website better so it protects you from the hackers on the web.

“Crash Google Chrome in an instant with this one weird link.” ”US government hack stole fingerprints of 5.6 million federal employees.“(http://www.theguardian.com/us/technology) We’ve been hearing this in the news pretty often. A few months ago Sony Pixel was hacked… It was SONY, US Government People! We can’t help that the internet is less than 30 years young and that the human mind is way more powerful than computer.

We’re always thinking about security when dealing with important information online. We trust in large corporations to manage and make sure that their security is at it’s high. Needless to say, there’s a few things that you can do in order to make sure that you don’t get hacked with your important information online. Always take into count that nothing on the web is 100% secured but, technology is always changing to make sure that it’s always at it’s high!

If you have a WordPress website for your small business, always make sure that your plugins are up to date. Recently we went through a hack and the guy or girl was from Russia and after researching more in depth on how it was done, we realized it was from not updating our plugins. Plugins are extensions that work with the WordPress platform that allows certain features to work in certain ways. You always want to make sure that you aren’t using a plugin that only has a few downloads. Make sure that you research reviews and search comments from other to make sure that it’s reliable and good to work with.

More in Depth is when you actually develop the website from scratch. There’s tons of open source scripts that allow you to easily build a website but, take into account that someone else has written that code. You always want to make sure that the code isn’t sloppy and by sloppy i mean by not just using OS scripts all over the place. If you’re developing the website from scratch have a friend that knows Code sit down and look at it for you. Sometimes it’s better to get a friends opinion on how it flows and looks.
